2010 Texas State Poet Laureate Karla K. Morton Announces Little Town, Texas Tour
Tour Kicks Off in September 2009 to Take Poetry and the Arts across State. The tour will bring poetry to teens across Texas, making poetry more accessible and relevant to students, especially in towns that may be underserved in the arts. Morton also plans to visit oncology and cancer centers across the state, where she will share from "Redefining Beauty," a poetry collection she wrote during her own battle with cancer.
North Carolina Writer Wins Indie Book Award
Maureen Sherbondy, a Raleigh, North Carolina poet with two published poetry collections, has been named a winner in the poetry category of the Next Generation Indie Book Awards for her book Praying at Coffee Shops.
